Back in October 2011, Porsche held the Rennsport Reunion IV where Porsche enthusiasts and owners alike gathered to pay tribute to the iconic 911 sports car. More than 60 years of Porsche history was showcased at the event, highlighted by some of the rarest and most powerful Porsche->ke1 classics in history, but the most anticipated part of the program was the launch of the new and improved Porsche 911/991.

This event was such an outstanding moment in history that Porsche continues to unveil videos showing off the vehicle that brought all of these devoted Porsche owners together to celebrate the sports car by which all others are measured. They've even come up with a snazzy tag line.

Our identity, our promise. Forever the sports car.

Of course, Porsche has much to celebrate. Their 911->ke282 has been on the market since 1963 with sales and loyalty from owners booming. Their latest iteration is the best ever, powered by 3.4L direct-injected flat-six engine that delivers a total of 350 HP, mated to a new, optional Porsche-Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK). This combination gives way to a 0-62 mph sprint time of 4.6 seconds, or 4.4 seconds when teamed up with the optional Sport Chrono Package.

The Porsche 911 Carrera S is powered by a 3.8-liter flat-six with direct injection engine that delivers 400 HP. This, plus the PDK, allows the Carrera S a 0-62 mph sprint time of 4.3 seconds (an improvement of 0.2 seconds). That improvement increases when the setup is matched up with the Sport Chrono Package, leaving a 0-62 mph time of 4.1 seconds.

Both models can also be matched up with the standard, and the world’s first, seven-speed manual gearbox.
