Most people take comfort in knowing that when they get behind the wheel of their favorite sports car, they can tackle the roads at speeds that are simply unknown to those of us driving around in our lame family cars. Now, those same people can rest assured that the car that can zip and zoom down the road is the very same car that can tack on a trailer and tow away someone else’s favorite ride. Confused? Probably. Curious? Darn right!
Take a look at the picture up top and you’ll notice that the vehicle serving as a mean towing vehicle is not the usual grimy truck you see on the side of the road. No, this is the beautiful and the luxurious Porsche Panamera. And being carried along at the tail end of this modern tow truck is a Lotus Exige. It may seem crazy, but what’s even crazier - and simply fantastic - is that this Porsche Panamera is the ultimate proof that the German sedan is indeed a powerful car!
The Panamera is offered with a choice of a V6 or a V8 engine, with power ranging from 300 to 500 bhp depending on the trim level. Each engine is mated to a manual six-speed gearbox or a seven-speed Double-Clutch Gearbox (PDK). The Exige, on the other hand, is powered by a 1.8 liter engine that develops a total of 217 hp, or 257 hp for the S version. These specifications only lead us to the very same conclusion as illustrated in the picture shown; the Panamera has more than enough power to tow a car just like it!
