Prius owner gets thrown in jail for confronting a Honda Civic

To what lengths will you go to to prove that your Toyota Prius is not a push-over on the road. Apparently, for Timothy Hird of Winder, Georgia, far enough to get him thrown in jail.

The Toyota Prius owner became so incensed at the lack of ’road cred’ his Toyota Prius was getting that, in a fit of rage, he attempted to race a Honda Civic just to show that his Prius could hang with the non-hybrid types. The incident occurred at a Publix supermarket near Braselton, Georgia when the driver of the Civic pulled out in front of Hird, inciting him to the point that he ran to his Prius, sped up, and caught the Civic before shouting "Watch this!" at the passenger of the Civic and began blocking their car. In an attempt to get past the raging Hird, the driver of the Civic almost ran into a police car.

As a result of the incident, both drivers were booked for reckless driving with Hird suffering the brunt of the punishment - he got thrown in jail - for his highly aggressive, and obviously dangerous attempt in proving that his beloved hybrid Prius was no slouch on the road.

Way to go, Mr. Hird. You did prove your point, although we didn’t see the whole point of it in the first place. Hey, more power to you and your stay behind bars.

He was aggressive more than his beloved car. There’s a lot of ways to prove how good or best your car was. Sadly, this driver doesn’t know any of them.

So much pity.

Yeah, I guess those drivers dreamed that they owned a high speed performing sportscar that’s why they call for an illegal race! Well, with their less powerful engine I don’t think that they escape the police car!

haha. That’s the stupidest race that I have known. I don’t think that these car have have an impressive performance, both the Civic and Prius are not a racing type vehicle.

This Prius owner should throw his car and invest for a sporstcar so that he would knew what is high speed performance. BTW, its a good thing that no fatal incident happened in the race.

I don’t know if I’m going to laugh at the Prius owner or what. IMO, he never understand on what does “98 hp” means! Comparing the figure performance of these two cars. Well, we could actually identify who emits a powerful engine.

I think the ground is "attempt assault" because he confronted the other driver.

Hmm dude we all know prius has no chance of tailgating the civic. Instead of racing with it.. he takes the problem with his own hands.

Both drivers should be penalized.

Instead of confronting he should let the car decides.

this is what you called high-temper + emotions, when that two meet sometimes it ends up in a fight..

Road rage, yeah right! Many drivers has a bad temper or sometimes they’re taking their problems on the road.

one thing comes to mind ROAD Rage!!!!!!
