Production Version Chevrolet SS will be Unveiled on February 16th

We have already seen the NASCAR version of the new Chevrolet SS, and now we are waiting to see the production version of this model. The wait will soon be over, as its reveal will happen on February 16th at Daytona International Speedway’s fan zone.

Jim Campbell, Chevrolet’s U.S. vice president, confirmed that the production version will be offered with a V-8 engine and a rear-wheel-drive system. Previous rumors suggested that this engine will deliver at least 350 horsepower and a peak torque of 381 pound-feet.

The new Chevrolet SS will go into production in November and sales will begin in late 2013 and, unfortunately, it will be built in limited numbers. He also confirmed that the new SS will be priced higher than the Impala, which has a base price of $27,535. This means that our previous assumption of a $35k price tag likely wasn’t that far off.
