If you think that Jay Leno->ke3731 has an awesome garage, you obviously haven’t seen the cars in Ralph Lauren’s garage. Housing some of the rarest vehicles in the history of the world, the fashion icon’s well-documented fondness for classic vehicles is already well chronicled. But while we know about Ralph and his obsession with exotics of all shapes and sizes, we’ve yet to get a look at some of the vehicles that are all carefully restored in tip-top condition at his museum-like garage in Atlanta.

Fortunately, Vanity Fair was given a tour inside the facility and, oh dear Lord, the cars inside just made our jaws drop. Ranging from classics like a 1938 Bugatti->ke16 coupe and a 1938 Alfa Romeo->ke1386 Mille Miglia roadster to modern pieces of machinery like a Bugatti Veyron->ke1112 and a Lamborghini Murcielago SuperVeloce, Lauren's garage is like a who's who of automobile greatness. It even has the only 1930 Mercedes->ke187 SSK “Count Trossi” roadster in existence. What’s more amazing is that all these cars, especially the classics, have all been maintained in ideal condition and, every so often, Ralph Lauren even takes them out for a spin.

We’ve seen some pretty amazing celebrity garages in our time, including that of Jay Leno’s, but Ralph Lauren’s garage is without question the most amazing celebrity garage we’ve ever seen.

UPDATE 04/26/11: In just two days, one of the world's most exclusive car collections belonging to no other than Ralph Lauren himself will be on exhibit for the first time in Europe at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, France. Talking about his extensive list of classic automobiles, Ralph Lauren shares how he thinks about his cars - not as a collection, but as an extension of himself - as works of art.
