The automotive world has long since embraced the usefulness of the SUV, but recent upward trends in the price of gasoline have made some people think twice about the bigger mode of transportation. Just last year, Land Rover came out with the Evoque crossover that still hones in on the benefits of an SUV, but in a slightly smaller package to give customer’s wallets a break. Now the more luxurious Tata offspring - Jaguar - is preparing a crossover of their own and this first rendering illustrates the sleek exterior design that will find its way to the market in 2015. Rumors are suggesting that the future Jaguar SUV will be built on the same platform as the recently launched Range Rover Evoque. It will be an all-wheel-drive model powered by the 240 HP 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder currently residing in the Evoque. The four-cylinder engine will ensure a low fuel consumption and, in the turbocharged version, will deliver enough power to offer great performance numbers. Diesel options may also be available and may include a 2.2-liter four-cylinder producing 187 HP. These engines will be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. .

This whole plan of Jaguar SUV is totally rubbish! I will not completely affirm on the rumor that this car manufacturer can’t afford its production. However, I do believe that building a crossover, CUV or SUV will make them step on the foot of their corporate cousin, the Land Rover.
@PerfectionSLK, You’re right.. I think this SUV plan has been announced six years ago according to my research. The car really look so gorgeous but still I have doubt if Jaguar will continue its production or not. BTW, there just one question that popped in my head, is there anyone that wants to purchase this car?
@Durante_Milano
A car need an engine to drive?!?
Oh really give me a break, I am just saying that this car looks great, and this amazing looks is dwarfing all the other details. And just one more thing, All of this article is built out of rumors- as it should be of course, the chances that those rumors are right is very low... So I write about the only thing that can be the closest to reality.
@ PerfectionSLK. If your basis to know if the car is impressive is with its looks. I will tell you that it is not good at all. Can you drive a vehicle that does not have an engine or has an engine but only delivers 50HP? If you are only after the looks, then try to drive a car without an engine.
For a SUV version and diesel version the speed performance of the car is kind of impressive and the styling is great as well. It’s great to know that it offers a better fuel economy.
Finally, they have offer and releasing a SUV version! This vehicle definitely has a better fuel economy compare to coupe. I guess this is a good start for Tata. However, we still need to make sure that this is final and know the complete details for this production vehicle.
SUV is bigger than a mid-size car, thus it will need more gas. We all know that there’s a crisis of gasoline nowadays so I think it will not be a good idea to promote SUV because it is a gas guzzler.
