Now that McLaren ->ke284 started producing the new P1, its focus now moves to the long-rumored P13 -- the company's response to the Porsche 911 Turbo and others like it. AutoExpress managed to get its hands on few more interesting bits about the P13, including its output and pricing.

The next P13 will be entry-level McLaren model, and it will borrow design cues from the P1. It is expected to feature P1-style wraparound headlights with LED strips underneath and, of course, the two hood vents that give it that signature Mc:Laren look.

The P13 will sit on the same carbon-fiber monocoque as the 12C->ke3514 and P1, but its wheelbase will be shorter, making it more compact than its big brothers. These smaller dimensions will equate to lower weight and awesome agility.

Under its hood, Auto Express reports that the P13 will carry the same 3.8-liter, turbocharged V-8 engine as the 12C, but McLaren will detuned it to 450 horsepower -- a reduction of 166 horsepower.

Despite the horsepower reduction, McLaren expects fantastic performance, thanks to its curb weight that will be below 12C's 1,434 kg (3161-pound) curb weight. Giving up more than 350 pounds to the 2014 Porsche 911 Turbo means that it will likely be a mean competitor for the German pedigree.

Expect the new McLaren P13 to be unveiled in late 2014 and to go on sale in 2015. Auto Express is reporting that the P13 will check in at £120,000 (about $193,500 at the current exchange rates).
