Saab is working on a new SUV that will compete with models like BMW X3 or Land Rover Freelander. First unveiled as the 9-4X BioPower concept at January’s Detroit Motor Show, the future 9-4X has been already caught testing. The official debut will be made in 2010; pricing will start from £24,000 ($47.500). Under the skin is the same platform as found on another General Motors small 4x4: the Cadillac BRX. It will be built in at Mexico’s Ramos Arizpe factory. Buyers will be able to pick from a wide range of petrol engines, as well as a new 250bhp diesel. And all models will be equipped with Saab’s XWD all-wheel-drive system. .
