In a press conference today at the Geneva Motor Show, Shakira appeared on the SEAT stand together with the president of SEAT, Erich Schmitt.

 

“I have been having a lot of fun so far during the tour even if I “caught the fever” for real for a while”, commented Shakira. “I didn’t expect to follow the tour slogan Catch the Fever so literally. However, I will certainly return with SEAT to these cities before I end my tour in Europe.”

 

“Shakira is enhancing the positive trend we see for the SEAT brand”, said Erich Schmitt. “She helps us expose our brand to people that we normally would not get in touch with.”

 

During the presentation, the Director of the Swiss SEAT importer AMAG, Mr. Ronald Ziegler, handed Shakira a cheque for the Pies Descalzos foundation amounting to 16.000 Swiss Francs. This money is the result of the-party after one of the Zurich concerts. An auction resulted in 6.000 CHF and AMAG added another 10.000 CHF to that as a donation.

 

The global campaign SEAT is doing for Shakira’s charity foundation Pies Descalzos now amounts to 100.000 Euros. In many European countries people can donate money by sending an SMS to a dedicated number. Furthermore, there is the opportunity to donate money with credit card via the tour website: www.catch-the-fever.com (Charity campaign reaches 100.000 Euros).

 

The fundraising continues until the 15th of May and during the Barcelona Motor Show in the beginning of June, the Leon Pies Descalzos will be handed over to its lucky winner.

 

In order to make the Leon Pies Descalzos car even more unique and valuable Shakira signed its hood during the press conference. Shakira was involved in the design process of the car, so it is only adequate that it now also bears her signature.
