Just the other day, Mercedes->ke187 dropped a series of "official spy shots" showing the upcoming SLC sports car testing on the open roads.

Today, our spy photographers caught the car testing one more time. The next SLC - also rumored to be called simply “GT” - will be offered as a direct response to models like Porsche 911->ke282, so the fact you are seeing a Nissan GT-R->ke1592 next to it shouldn't be such a big surprise.

The SLC - internally known as the Mercedes C190 - will be powered by a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 engine that delivers anywhere between 485 and 600 horsepower, depending on the version you will opt for.

Mercedes claims the SLC will only be offered in a coupe version, but we expect to see a convertible version at some time.

Spy shots

The prototype caught testing today by our spy photographers is heavily camouflaged and this camo does a good job hiding the final SLC design.

Despite the camo, we can help give you an idea of what the SLC could look like. Considering the fact it will be offered as the smaller cousin of the SLS, minus the gullwing doors, we expect to see a lot of cues from the SLS, plus a shortened hood. We expect the grille and headlights to remain nearly unchanged.

For the rear, we will see taillights similar to the SLS, a refreshed bumper and an exhaust system with different end pipes.
