Did you catch yesterday's spy shots of the upcoming Porsche 911 GT3 RS? We spotted the prototype on its way to the Nurburgring->ke999 course, the place were all track-prepped Porsches->ke1 feel at home, and we had a look at some of the car's new details. Now we're back to bring you a host of new photos with the GT3 RS taking on the famed Nordschleife. And if that makes you drool all over your keyboard, please take it to our paparazzi, because they're the ones prowling around Nurburgring->ke999 for the hottest four-wheeled machines that may show up.

Unfortunately, there are no fresh details for us to munch on, but the new pictures provide us with a better look at the prototype. We're especially glad we can now ogle at the RS' sexy rear end without any lens flare to bother our eyes and take notice of the bumper's actual shape.

What's more, the fact that the new 911 GT3 RS will have even wider tires at all four corners is much more obvious. Also, it appears that the large rear wing will undergo some minor modifications until it reaches its final production form.

As we've previously mentioned, the new GT3 RS will arrive with an array of aerodynamic enhancements that also include canards mounted on the front bumper. That's a new feature on the standard RS and it's borrowed from the previous RS 4.0 model.

Power will come from the same 3.8-liter, flat-six engine found in the GT3, but the RS will benefit from a few internal upgrades that will take the output up to around 500 horsepower. The 0 to 60 mph sprint should be achieved in about 3.1 seconds, while top speed is likely to sit at 195 mph.

Why This Is Not the Porsche GT2?

Recent spy shots have created quite a stir over the Internet lately, in regard as to whether the Porsche in question is the upcoming GT3 RS or the new and equally anticipated GT2. The GT2 scenario is usually backed by the fact that the prototype sports the signature Turbo intakes on its rear fenders.

On the other hand, the sports car->ke506 depicted above is fitted with a central exhaust, a trademark for the GT3 RS ever since it was created, whereas the GT2 has them mounted on each side of the bumper. Then there's the rear wing, which is very similar to what has been previously fitted to the GT3 RS. By comparison, the GT2's wing sits lower and has a different shape.

Moreover, it wouldn't make sense for Porsche to launch the GT2 ahead of the GT3 RS. Not to mention that, earlier this year, the Germans stated that the future of the GT2 is still uncertain. Getting back to the confusing turbo intakes matter, it's likely that Porsche is using the Turbo's wider body for this mule, as the GT3 RS will be beefier than its predecessor. The said model is still a long way off, so there's plenty of time to get the body to look more familiar.
