Just the other days we brought you the first spy shots of the Volante version for the new-generation Aston Martin Vanquish, and today our spy photographers managed to catch the car up close, apparently while the driver stopped for a snack.

As you can see from these spy shots, the Volante version brings no major updates over the coupe version, except for its fabric roof, of course. In fact, Aston Martin engineers didn't even bother to camouflage the car mainly because we are looking at a drop-top version of the coupe version.

Under the hood, we will see the same 6.0-liter V12 that delivers an impressive 656 horsepower. Power will be delivered to the rear wheels via a six-speed Touchtronic 2 automatic transmission. Of course, the Volante version will be a little bit slower due to its added weight, so do not expect to see the same 4.1-second sprint to 60 mph.

As previously rumored, the new Aston Martin Vanquish Volante will be unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
