Two weeks ago we brought you the first spy shots of the upcoming BMW 2-Series Convertible. Today is time for its coupe sibling to go out for a testing session on public roads and our spy photographers were once again at the right place to shot some very cool photos.

As you can see this prototype caught testing is not fully camouflaged and reveals parts of the hard-top and the exterior mirrors. Everything else has been carefully hidden, but we already know that the next 2-Series->ke2065 will be pretty much similar to the new generation 3-Series->ke290, except its two-doors configuration and the fact that it will be made a little bit sportier.

Under the hood, we will only see four-cylinder engines, including a 2.0-liter gasoline engine with 150, 177 or 218 horsepower, and a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine with 214 horsepower. All of the engines will mate to either a six-speed manual transmission or an optional eight-speed automatic transmission.

Expect to see the new 2-Series Coupe launched late in 2013.
