Spy shots: BMW i8 shows its wings

BMW i8

Although its been just a few days since we last brought you a series of BMW i8 spy shots, today is time to see the car in action one more time. The good news is that this time the i8 is showing its gullwing doors, a confirmation that they will find their way into the production version of the supercar.

And, as you most likely know the production version i8 will stay faithful to the concept ’s design, with some minor changes so that it can actually go out on the street. Up front you will see elements from the BMW ’s latest design language started by the new 3-Series , while both the headlights and the rear lights will have a different design compared to the concept.

As for the engine, the i8 will combine a 1.5 liter inline 3 engine with two electric motors. Final output will be somewhere in the 400 HP, while the autonomy will be in the 249 miles area.

I don’t quite get the fascination with tattoo-like painted cars. They look cheap, to be honest. Oh but we’re talking about the “wings”, yes scissor doors are always awesome as much as gull wing doors.

It is definitely extreme that this i8 will use the scissor doors. It will surely look great.

Very impressive wing doors there. The fancy paint is looking hip as well. With its surreal appearance, is it really possible it could achieve that figure of speed?

Wow, the BMW has ended on making that winged-door? Amazing indeed, this supercar must be more than we could expect. It gives me doubt if this will have a powerful output of 400hp. Of course, it’ll be best if this could give that kind of number, but aren’t they exaggerating much with this matter?

It was fascinating on my perspective. Don’t they have closer views? It was indeed powerful at a 400HP.

Very nice! I like the butterfly type door, plus the cool design. So chilling! The rims are perfect, I want to have this one!

I must admit that it has impressive gulling doors, but I’m more amazed into Mercedes’s concept. However, this new version of BMW will proceed into the production version of super cars.
