By now, everyone knows that Audi ->ke14 is working on the new-generation TT. However, until now, all we had to go off of were some mules that we caught testing in wintery conditions. Now, the first full prototype went out for a test is out for some tests at the Nurburgring, and we caught it.

We have very few details about the next TT ->ke1081 up to this point, but we do know that it will be built on the company's new modular MQB chassis that currently underpins the new-generation Audi A3->ke1086 and the new Volkswagen Golf->ke164. Thanks to the new platform, the next TT will be lighter and will deliver increased performance.

Under the hood, the new TT will receive a new 1.8-liter engine and two different 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engines.

The new Audi TT Coupe will be unveiled sometime in 2014, with the roadster version to follow a few months later.

Spy shots

The prototype caught testing today by our spy photographers is heavily camouflaged, but even so it's pretty clear that it will adopt a new, sportier exterior design language. It looks like the 2015 TT will feature a cues from the latest E-tron concept car, like a new front grille, new headlamps with LED accents and a modified rear look.
