Are you supercar enthusiasts ready to get excited? We sure are. What we have here is a set of spy shots of the Mclaren F1->ke1159 successor -- A.K.A the Mclaren P1. The prototype has dropped the heavy camouflage so it is easier to spot some of the upcoming design elements.

From the spy shots, the design of the mule is nearly the same as the radical design the concept featured in Paris. This means we can expect the head-turning design of the concept to be carried into the production model.

The power output of the P1 is still in rumorland, but some sources speculate that a 5.0-liter V-8 engine, developed in partnership with Ricardo, will power the P1. Other sources state that the 3.8-liter V-8 combined with a KERS system will be the powertrain of choice. With that wide of a gap beween the rumors, we’ll take them both with a grain of salt.

Just like the Mclaren P1, its scorn rivals -- the Porsche 918 Spyder and the Ferrari F70 – are in their development phase. The 918 is just about finished up, but the F70 still seems to be a long ways away. WE already know that the 918 Spyder will approach the $1 million mark and we expect much of the same from the P1 and the F70. That price tag is not surprising for a car that is manufactured using carbon fiber, slated to be the F1 successor and expected to topple the best of the automotive world.

Stay tuned for more!
