A few days ago, our spy photographers caught testing the sedan version of the next generation Mercedes C-Class and now it looks like its time for the convertible version to flex its muscles outside. While the sedan version was wearing almost no camouflage, the convertible version was heavily disguised and it wears a fake roof.

The production version is expected to wear a conventional canvas sotftop, and not a retractable one as its main competitor, the BMW 4 Series Convertible. Everything else will borrowed from the sedan version, ranging from the exterior design language and up to the engine lineup that will include both diesel and gasoline engines.

The C-Class Convertible->ke1593 is expected to hit the market in 2015 as a 2016 model. It will join the C-Class lineup that will include a sedan and a station wagon model and will be followed by a coupe version.

The new generation Mercedes C-Class is expected to adopt a completely new design language, at least this is how Mercedes calls it. Even if the convertible version caught testing here is heavily camouflaged, it will be pretty much identical to the sedan version.

If you want to imagine how the next C-Class will look like try to add some S-Class design elements to the current generation. This means up front the next C-Class Convertible will adopt a two-louver grille and of course redesigned headlamps. The rear will also be revised with a new bumper and reshaped taillights.
