This is the second time we have caught the upcoming Mercedes GLA testing, but it is the first time it has been caught testing on public roads. As you can see, this prototype is still heavily camouflaged, but it is not very difficult to figure out that we are looking at the new Mercedes baby SUV. At first glance, you may think this prototype looks a lot like the A-Class, but upon closer inspection you will notice a beefier and more muscular front end, a more sloped rear window, and, of course, the higher ride height. Also, when compared to the boxy GLK, this GLA has a much rounder body. The next GLA will be built on the same platform (MFA= Mercedes Front-Wheel Drive Architecture) as the A-Class and the B-Class, and will be offered in both front-wheel four-wheel drive. Under the hood we will see the same engine lineup that the A-Class features, meaning a choice of four-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. Expect the GLA to hit a showroom sometime in 2014. .
