As far as the replica that Superformance has created, the company got their hands on the original blueprints and molds of the car and the folks at Superformance picked the prints and ran away with it, creating a virtual replica – except for the engine and transmission, of course – of the fabled race car.
The ‘cloned’ Grand Sport will come in a choice between a coupe and a roadster where its engines can be acquired through GM’s Performance Parts division. Superformance has yet to make announce the official date as to when the street version of the Grand Sport will be made available, although that it would be sometime in the middle of the next year.
Likewise, the car’s price tag has yet to be released, too. In any case, interested buyers can find more about the replica Grand Sport by calling Superformance at (949) 900-1950.
It goes without saying that even if it’s just a replica, Superformance’s take on the 1963 Corvette Grand Sport is about as close as you can get to the original ones – all five of them.
