Initially earmarked for just North America, the track-focused, street-legal Jaguar XKR-S GT will now also be offered in the UK, albeit in limited quantities.

The irony of a British sports car only being offered in the U.S. and Canada notwithstanding, this latest development should be music to the ears of people in the UK, a lot of whom probably scratched their heads after Jaguar made the initial announcement the new sports car->ke506 was only available across the pond.

But according to a release from Jaguar->ke39, the automaker had a change of heart, or at the very least, a change in priorities after strong demand from its homeland spurred the company to build and send 10 models of the XKR-S GT to the UK.

Strong demand has been the primary reason for Jaguar's decision to not only send some models to the UK, but increase its total volume from the initial offering of 30 units - 25 in the US and five in Canada - to up to 50 units.

Each of these models will run £135,000 ($205,362) on the road, which, given the exclusivity of the sports car, appears to be money well-spent for anybody lucky enough to score one of the 10 models staying in the UK.
