The Future BMW M6 GranCoupe Fully Exposed

BMW will unveil the new M6 GranCoupe online next month and the world debut will be made in January 2013 at the Detroit Motor Show. Just recently, the M56 GranCoupe was fully exposed during an event at Nurburgring. Fortunately for us, some savvy folks had the chance to shot some images of the M6 GranCoupe and shared them with the rest of the world.

The next M6 GranCoupe will be powered by the same engine as the standard M6 models, which is a 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine with an output of 553 horsepower and a peak torque of 501 foot-pounds delivered between 1,750 and 5,750 rpm. The engine will be mated to a seven-speed M-Double Clutch Transmission (M-DCT) that will send the power to the rear wheels.

When compared to the standard 6-Series GranCoupe , the M6 version will get a more aggressive front and rear fascias with the usual M-type elements, larger wheels, and a quad-exhaust system.

youmay have a point there dave. the 5 series for audi a6, the 7 series for the a8. it would only make sense that the 6 series is aimed at the audi a7.

i think this car can be a good competitor for the audi a7.

i wonder how much is this car going to cost. i think more than the m5.

any M bmw is good. this one is great!

i like it that they have brought the engine down from 5 liters to 4.4. better for taxes.

i love the more aggressive look on this m6. and the quad-exhaust will be great, i am sure of that.

you may be right. still, i would choose the m5 and keep the extra money for fuel and tires smiley.

you are right midocar. i mean, from 1750 to 5750 RPM? that is great!

am i the only one who thinks the range of RPM where the maximum torque is available is great on this engine?

otto, it is all about taste. the 6 series is more of a GT car, as the 5 series is a luxury sedan.

why would one pay more for the m6 when the m5 is just as good?

i love the new 6 series. and the m6 is even better.
