The Gallardo->ke375 is the reigning best-selling Lambo->ke44, and it looks like its successor is off to a good start in unseating it.

Today, Lamborghini announced that the Huracan already has 700 orders on the books, despite the Italian company not officially announcing its release date yet. Of course, I'm sure that Lamborghini let the future Huracan owners know the approximate date during its ongoing VIP preview tour, but it is still impressive that this many people are comfortable enough in the supercar to lump down a nice down payment.

Then again, a car hailing from Lamborghini rarely sees showrooms before orders start rolling in. Add in the 5.2-liter V-10 that smolders rubber by way of 610 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, and I can see why people are clamoring to get their hands on it. This powerhouse of an engine is enough to get the Huracan to 60 mph in just 3.2 seconds and up to a top speed in excess of 202 mph.

Okay, okay, maybe it's not that big of a surprise to see it become a hot seller before its official release.

Let me know in the comments section if you think the Huracan will unseat the Gallardo as the best-selling Lambo ever.

2015 Lamborghini Huracán LP 610-4

There were many cars of interest rolled out in 2013, but none drew more interest in the last one-third of the year than the Lamborghini Huracan. Between spy shots and teasers, it seemed like we were talking about it on a daily basis. We talked so much, that we were honestly afraid that it may underwhelm us a little.

Well, underwhelm is one thing it did not do, as it came packing 610 ponies, a look that better matched the current lineup and enough torque to give you a 3.2-second-long facelift on its way to 60 mph. Add to that a top speed that's over 202 mph, and we think "underwhelm" is not even in the Huracan's vocabulary.

Though there is no official price tag yet, a leaked document pegs it at £180,720 (about $298k).
