TopSpeed Rendering: 2013 Porsche Cayman S

  news

Now that we have officially seen the Porsche Boxster, the next model to arrive will be the Cayman. Our impatience for the debut has gotten the better of us again, so we have released a rendering of the future sports car in its Cayman S version.

The new Cayman will feature a longer wheelbase that will provide for a roomier interior. Exterior and interior changes will be minimal, much like the ones seen on the new 911 and Boxster models.

As with the Boxster, the Cayman will be powered by a 2.7 liter engine that delivers a total of 265 HP, while the S version will get a 3.4 liter version with 315 HP. Both versions can be combined with either a manual six-speed gearbox as standard or a seven-speed Porsche Doppelkupplungsgetriebe (PDK) available as an option. The S version will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.8 seconds, while top speed will be in the 175 mph area.

Expect to see the new generation Porsche Cayman launched in the coming weeks.

Although this is speedy, I think this is the least attractive model of the Porsche editions.

Upon seeing this, I truly don’t know anymore. Porsche has been confusing my mind by producing the same astounding cars!

I must admit that it has impressed me because of that speed. However, my heart is still with some other Porsche models.

I don’t know which is yet better; Cayman or Boxster? Out of the question though, Cayman is truly a candidate in one of the fastest cars.

Aerodynamics is its feature that appealed to me the most. With that, this amazing supercar will be even more consistent with its speed.

Extending its wheelbase will make it uglier. They should focus more on further improving other aspects of this one.

They really want to be the best in racing category, I can see that very well. On the other hand, I want to own at least one of their cars.

Ooooh, another piece of Porsche’s amazing production. I wish Porsche would line up all of their super cars, so I can choose among them personally.

This will be the most powerful from their previously released models. They really have the finest mechanics on the house.

Porsche has something new in their minds after the release of their Boxter and 911 Carrera from the last Geneva Motor Show. This Cayman S will be the most powerful among the models they have released.
