TopSpeed’s Best of 2010: Commercial of the Year

  news

It is more than just proven theory that good advertising improves product sales. Usually people spend millions just for letting the public know that they actually exist on the market and that they have something to sell. The same thing applies to the automotive industry. A good commercial can make anyone take a certain car into consideration when going to a dealer to make their purchase.

It is a fact that makers like Mercedes, BMW, and Audi have impressive commercials and that Lamborghini and Ferrari makes us say "Wow!" every time we watch one of their videos, but this time we’re turning our attention to something a bit different. This year, we believe the commercial of the year should go to the "Nissan Leaf - Polar Bear."

If asked if this commercial made us take the Nissan Leaf into consideration then we would have to be honest and say no. Truth is, we were impressed with the vehicle long before that. The great thing about this commercial is that it made people think of the repercussions of their decisions. Don’t get us wrong, we’re not persistent tree-huggers by any means, but from time to time, it’s good to be aware of the effects our decisions cause to the creatures surrounding us.

This Polar Bear commercial was heartfelt and powerful, and that is why it was our pick for Commercial of the Year.

Yeah, the concept of the commercial is kind of impressive. However, talking about the car itself. I I would say that I’m not into electric vehicle for they are not reliable. Well, I don’t think that Nissan has use any modern technology for this car.

With all the awesome commercial that was released recently, I would say that this one is not the best anymore. However, talking about the concept and how it make us feel the warmth of the polar bear hug, well, this is a great advert I would say.

Actually, they have a feature in the car called the engine converter that automatically charged the battery when it loses its power. However, this technology is still questionable for me. I think this concept still needs a further study.

Well, I don’t think that this commercial would hide the facts about electric cars. This concept is unreliable and it doesn’t perform well. And its too bad, that Nissan needs to activate the gasoline option of this car in order to support the car whenever it loses it power.

Well, this commercial is truly a heart warming one. No wonder why its was held as the Best Commercial of the Year. For me, its an eye opener that we should trust electric cars even a little bit because in the end, we’ll need it.

hmm. Polar bear looks powerful. The video seems to be so heartfelt and the bear hug, well, that’s so sweet! However, the reliability of electric car is still doubtful for me.

I really like this Leaf ad a lot. It was definitely one of the more brilliant ads that they did for a car, quite simple, yet meaningful .

when I first saw this commercial I get curious about the “polar bear” thing. I thought it would have race or fight scene with the Nissan Leaf (action packed scene) but then I was surprised that the ending would be kind of “cheesy”!

Yes, the Nissan Leaf definitely drove home the message on this one. Rather serious one though, but it didn’t feel off when they have finally introduced the Leaf.
