Nissan announced the launch of the Nissan GT-R, a new multi-dimensional performance machine that lives up to the concept of an ultimate supercar for anyone, anywhere, at anytime. The Nissan GT-R features a newly developed Premium Midship package, including the world’s first independent transaxle 4 wheel drive developed by Nissan. Nissan’s VR38DETT is a brand new engine specially developed for the Nissan GT-R. The 3.8-liter unit uses twin IHI turbochargers. Its maximum power is 480 PS at 6400rpm. This makes the Nissan GT-R one of the world’s most powerful road cars and the most powerful production car ever built by Nissan. The Nissan GT-R will be available in Japan mainly through Nissan High Performance Centers nationwide from December 6th. To properly support the all-new GT-R, Nissan has established special Nissan High Performance Centers, where all certified advisors and technicians have received extensive training. Total support for the GT-R owner is offered for the first three years of ownership.
Subaru automobiles, announced the major features of its vehicles and technologies, which will be exhibited at the 40th Tokyo Motor Show 2007. The new Horizontally-Opposed 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbo charged engine was developed exclusively for the new WRX STI. By further improving the basic performance of the engine, and mating it to SUBARU Intelligent Drive, the WRX STI offers not only outright performance as might be expected, but also delivers excellent handling under extreme as well as normal driving conditions.
Chrysler today announced the manufacturing launch of the new 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10, which is being built at the company’s Conner Avenue Assembly Plant in Detroit. The new 2008 Dodge Viper SRT10 will arrive in Dodge showrooms in North America this fall with a new level of customization options, including five new exterior colors, four new interior color combinations and a new wheel design. Mazda will unveil at the Tokyo Motor Show the Mazda Taiki concept car, equipped with a next-generation rotary engine. The Taiki sets new standards for environmental and driving performance, a front-engine rear-drive layout, a unique 2-seat configuration, and Mazda’s rotary sports package, which conveys an image of lightness. Hyundai Motor America will show a colorful glimpse of the future when it takes the wraps off the Elantra Touring "Beach Cruiser" Concept at the 2007 Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) on October 30. The custom concept is derived from the all-new five-door Elantra Touring, which arrives in the U.S. in 2008, taking advantage of the strong resurgence in compact hatchbacks.
