Two thumbs down for the Wally Supercar Concept by Matthew Hockham

  news

We know that the name Wally whispered in the ears of yacht enthusiasts everywhere will send goosebumps up and down their arms in response to the sheer pleasure that name conjures up. And as we can respect the Wally name in terms of yachts, we have to wrinkle up our nose in distaste for the supercar modeled after the specific yacht design.

Apparently, Mr. Matthew Hockham, a UK industrial designer, decided that transferring the Wally design concept over to a supercar would be a good idea. He was horribly, horribly wrong. Although on paper, the sharp edges, black glass surfaces, and hi-tech gray tones sound absolutely marvelous; on the supercar, they simply fall flat. Designed to include the concept of a shooting brake model and sidelines inspired from the 118 WallyPower yacht, the look was supposed to say futuristic and classy. Ummm, how about weird and unpractical? The only redeeming factor this supercar may have is that the interior is made of carbon fiber and teak, again following along the lines of the Wally brand. The only problem with that is the supercar sounded good on paper too, so we can’t be too confident that the interior won’t leave us disappointed as well.

Look, we know that some people are going to go nuts over this concept, exclaiming how cool it is. More power to them. If you like it then by all means, please enjoy. All we have to say is that we are glad this will probably not see production ever. We’d be much happier with the Bugatti Veyron 16.4 Super Sport or the coming Porsche 918 Spyder; just to name a couple of the supercars we’d rather have.

I don’t agree that it is wrong to create this super car. I like the design, although it’s kind of weird. I think riding in this super car would be the coolest thing.

It doesn’t look like yacht but it looks more futuristic on its design. With that weird design, it can’t compete with other car brands.

If they put this one on the market, I bet it will be going too expensive, for the fact that it really looks like limousine but also this kind of car is truly one of a kind! smiley

I wonder if they had any plan to put this one on the market someday? Anyway, I have to agree with them that it is absolutely looking so luxurious because of its strange platform and other detailing.

It is really so futuristic that’s why I would not expect this to see on the market production. smiley However, the articles were right, that even if they put this one on production, I would still be happy to have Buggatti or Porshe. smiley

Strange!! But, I noticed that it had a futuristic detailing and I must say that I still appreciate this concept car, very unique and classy on its sleek body paint, I wonder if what will be the interior of this one will looks like.

Looks like a Limousine to me, i like it more better than with the Super Car with 6 wheels on it. Very unique and modern.

haha. It seems that its creator has a weird taste! I would not want to see myself driving around this hideous looking vehicle! I rather use the three-wheeled reliant!

I would say that Matthew Hockham just waste his time and effort in making this production! With the edginess and ugliness of the car I don’t think that there would be anyone wants to buy this!

This is a silly idea of Mr. Hockman. He lined it up with super cars yet I don’t see any super about this car. This is a big insult for super car manufacturers. It is like a dead car that must be chopped and threw under water.
