The latest episode of Car and Driver features one of the most amazing Nissan GT-R’s out there: a 1,400-horsepower version offered by no less an authority in aftermarket projects, AMS Performance. The Alpha 12 GT-R is powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbo engine with a modified system, an increased boost pressure and reinforced block. With these updates, the Alpha 12 delivers a total of 1,400 horsepower and 1,014 lb/ft of torque. Not exactly mince meat, is it? As a result, the GT-R is capable of sprinting from 60 mph to 130 mph in just 3.46 seconds while breaking a quarter-mile time of just nine seconds at speeds in excess of 166 mph. Blown away yet? The model is also the fastest R35 GT-R at the 2011 Texs Mile where it hit a top speed of 216.9 mph and also posted he fastest GT-R quarter mile in history, posting a time of 8.97 second a astonishing 169 mph.
