Out in the wild, jaguars are considered to be one of the most cunning and agile among all of its big cat brethren. That being said, it pretty much goes without saying that if car brand is named after that particular cat, you would expect that it would have, at the very least, some of the qualities of the animal it was named after. You just don't become 'Jaguar->ke39' by being as slow as a turtle and as heavy on the feet as a drunken belly-buster on a Friday night.

Jaguar's Chief Engineer of its Vehicle Dynamics division, Mike Cross, will show you that with this name comes performance. In this video, Cross takes the new Jaguar XFR on a test run around a race track while in the middle of a torrential downpour.

Cross was joined by Car Magazine editor Ben Barry as they brave the rain and the slippery conditions to test out the brand's new saloon. By all accounts, it seemed like the two had a pretty dandy old time putting the XFR through the proverbial ringer.

Check it out.
