Video: 2011 Porsche 911 GT3 Hybrid unleashed on track

  news

The 2011 Porsche GT3 R Hybrid is more than just a pretty car; as this video shows, it’s got some serious legs too.

What’s even more impressive is that the 2011 911 GT3 R has a hybrid drive that combines a 480hp 4.0-liter flat six engine with two electric motors developing 60 kW each, in addition to an electrical flywheel power generator that’s fitted inside the cockpit next to the driver.

Porsche has gone through painstaking lengths to give us as much of the GT3 R as we possible we can without divulging too much when it makes its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in about two weeks.

This promo video features the GT3 R doing some test runs on a snow track and we have to admit, the whole treatment of the video is outstanding given the color contrast of the dynamic race car running around the somewhat gloomy and monotonous track.

Cool snow track. I like the video and I have to say that that is some cool car. The best thing about it is that it’s a hybrid car. Porsche cars are known to not have that much mileage compared to regular cars but with a hybrid car like these, burning money for fuel wouldn’t be that much now.
