Audi revealed today the first commercial for the most powerful R8 ever, the R8 V10 5.2 FSI. Although this is for the German market, the footage is obviously from a state in the western U.S. — too bad no one caught this out in the open when filming.
The supercar is powered by a 5.2 liter V10 engine de-tuned from the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 to make 525 hp (105 more than the V8 version.) It makes the 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) run in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 196 mph. Just like the slogan on the commercial says, this is the maximum Audi.
FYI: It is reported that to produce the R8, seventy workers fit 5,000 unique parts by hand. The factory produces 15 cars a day. It has also been credited as the only car in the world to undergo a CT Scan. Imagine that! Ninety-five lasers inspect the entire car in five seconds to ensure that over 220 measurements are within 0.1 mm of the programmed plans. Wow that really superb no wonder why that commercial is so speacial.
