Hennessey unveiled its updated version of the Chevrolet SS in early December 2013, and only one month later the tuner took the HPE600 supercharged version out on the Texas Toll Road to test the TxTag System -- Texas' automated toll-billing system -- and to see just how bad-ass the boosted SS really is..

The results were nothing short of incredible, as the SS HPE600 was able to hit a top speed of 163 mph on Grand Parkway toll road near Houston, Texas. If you're wondering why it only hit 163 mph, is because the SS's factory six-speed automatic transmission is geared in a way that prevents it from going any faster.

Updates offered for the HPE600 kit include a high-flow air induction system, engine management tuning upgrades, a high-flow intercooler system, an exhaust system and turbocharging system. With all these changes the SS's output jumps from the standard 415 horsepower up to 600 horsepower. Other updates also include a Brembo brake upgrades, suspension upgrades, and wheel and tire upgrades.
