Hermann Tilke may be regarded as the best race circuit designers in the world today, but try telling that to one James-Michael Gregory Harlan of Pontiac, Michigan. He’s got his own race track that would make the famous German architect green with envy.

Built over a course of a few years, Harlan’s track, which he’s calling the “White Lake Formula 1 Ring”, is a product of putting his skills and talents as an exhibits designer towards building a 1/32-scale of a track that, in his own words, “comprise many of the challenges one might encounter on a modern F1 circuit.”

After watching the video of a lap around Harlan’s track creation, you’ll understand what he means. The White Lake Formula 1->ke190 Ring comes with 19 turns and is full of all the necessities of a real F1 track. There are the spectator stands, the pit lane, viewing towers, and even stadium lights in case, you know, it’s a night race.

We admire the amazing detail of the track and the enormous patience, dedication, and hard work Mr. Harlan put into the White Lake Formula 1 Ring. We may not see something like this in our lifetime, but at least we know that there are visionaries out there that have a plan in place in case somebody does decide to make race track as awesome as this.
