Video: Driver blows up Dodge Neon’s engine in an attempt at burnout

By now, you’ve probably heard the expression ’Fail!’ being uttered by the kids of today. If you haven’t heard of it yet, we feel sorry for you. But if you have, you’d know that it constitutes seeing something so egregiously wrong that it can be best summarized in one word. Fail!

This video, courtesy of EBaumsWorld, is the epitome of a burnout ’Fail!’, featuring a Dodge Neon SRT 4 and, what we assume is his clueless owner.

Last time we checked, a successful burnout constitutes spinning the back wheels furiously while the front wheels remain still with the friction from the spinning back wheels and the pavement resulting in the release of smoke from the back end. Simple enough, right?

This dude does it the completely opposite way and as you can expect, the results were disastrous. But hey, in his defense, smoke did come out.

It just came out of the engine and not the back wheels.

well that was an unpleasant surprise by his car. as of now your engine is junk and can’t be repaired.

agree with jtm0711 FWD or FF can do a burnout easily with the help of Handbrakes, I’ve already seen the Speed 3 burnout around here somewhere.

I will agree on you Tommi but I guess it’s not about the wheel performance, the guy surely don’t know how to do it. I’ve seen some attempts but this one really a fun to watch. And yeah the smokes came out... on the engine... hehehe.

Lol. Well, although I find it very sad for the owner, it is still a golden funny moment. Sorry to the owner but it’s his fault. I guess that is a very good example of forcing your car to do something that it’s not meant to do. But, that was one heck of an explosion, luckily there aren’t any passenger or spectator who got hurt.

As kesspup66 pointed out, That is clearly not an SRT, the tail lights are from a 2000 - 2002 Neon, the brake calipers are red on ALL SRT-4s, no ground effects, wrong rear bumper, and no spoiler... Looks like a stolen (broken window) riced out P.O.S. 130hp Neon that doesn’t even have enough HP to make it over a curb. Funny though smiley

that is not a neon srt4. a srt4 has a spoiler and other body modifications. its pretty easy to spot an srt4

LMAO what in the world are you thinking man? its not an RW layout, burning out an FWD will really costs you an engine blow out due to wheel resistance to the engine, IMO he already did this many times because of the Rear Tire.
