Those safety devices sure came in handy in this video after an overzealous driver taking laps in a Dodge Viper attempted a risky – and ultimately, unsuccessful - cornering maneuvering on the high side of fourth gear. Ultimately, he ends up losing control of the Viper where it ended up making out with a surprisingly hard tirewall.
If it weren’t for those airbags, who knows how different this crash would end up, but thankfully, they were there to not only save the driver and passenger from serious injury but the passenger still had his wits about him to tell the driver to “turn the ignition off”.
Yeah, that’s probably the smartest thing the driver could’ve done.

It could have been an instructor Collin as he seem to be pointing some things out for the driver. If he is indeed an amateur or something and he is not a part of the team or not the owner of the car, he is sure to face a pretty expensive bill for the damages. Lol.
Cool video. Who was in the pit with him? I think that driver is still in training cause if he is not, he doesn’t need an instructor (I doubt that its a navigator cause track races don’t require them) at all. He seemed to have entered a very steep turn with too much speed. Lucky there are things like airbags, helmet (probably helped reduce the impact of the airbag to his head), and seatbelts. I wonder how the car looks like after the crash.
