Until recently, the best place to spot supercars was the principality of Monte Carlo on the southern coast of France. Dubai has, in recent years, seen a huge inflow of high-performance sports cars->ke506 and exclusive hypercars.

So much so that even the local police now roam in their very own high-power crowd pullers. The Dubai police department recently acquired a McLaren MP4-12C, adding to their fleet of Mustangs->ke428, Corvettes->ke1280, Mercedes->ke187, Veyrons->ke1112 and Lamborghinis->ke44. Just imagine cruising through your local streets and suddenly seeing a Lambo with red and blues flashing behind you -- now that's some scary stuff.

The official video confirming the McLaren->ke284 MP4-12C being added to the Dubai PD's fleet is nothing short of glamorous. We still doubt that the Dubai police force will actually use these cars, the MP4 included, for anything besides gratuitous publicity.

Mclaren MP4-12C

The Mclaren MP4-12C is regarded as one of the most advanced supercars money can buy. But, has it ruined the human involvement in the activity of driving?

Well, not exactly. There are numerous computers working behind you back, making you sure you don't crash the car. And you do feel it. The systems interfere whenever necessary and are always on standby, as to not interfere too much with the human element.

The car is built by some of the brightest brains in the business. The monocoque around which all the suspension components and the engine is bolted is made completely out of carbon fiber. This gives rigidity to the chassis and results in massively exciting handling dynamics.

The 3.8-liter, V-8 engine is bolted between the driver's cabin and the rear axles, and it is garnished with a twin-turbocharger system for added boost. In all, the engine generates 616 horsepower at 7,500 rpm and 443 pound-feet of torque at 3,000 rpm.

A seven-speed, double-clutch transmission is used to maintain peak engine performance, and allows for quicker and smoother gear shifts. The sprint from 0 to 60 mph takes just 3.1 seconds, the quarter-mile sprint takes just 10.6 seconds and it can hit 207 mph.
