Video: Ferrari 599 test mule caught testing in Fiorano

Looks like it’s been a busy few days for Ferrari at the Fiorano race track. A day after a spy video was shot at Fiorano featuring the 458 Italia GT2 , another one has popped up courtesy of Marchettino.

This time around, the car that was clad in the traditional black coverings looks to be a prototype model of the new Ferrari 599 . Like the GT2 before it, the 599 prototype was spotted burning some rubber at Ferrari’s track in Fiorano. There are a lot of whispers going around about this particular model with some people thinking that this is a test mule for the car that will eventually succeed the 599 while others believe this car will be an updated model of the range that’s going to come with the company’s recently introduced KERS energy-recovery system.

Whatever the case may be, we’re just happy to see that Ferrari isn’t using the days leading up to Christmas doing some last-minute holiday shopping. While that’s fun and, dare we say therapeutic, nothing beats getting behind the wheel of a Ferrari 599 test mule while running it to the absolute limit at the Fiorano race track.

Is that the official car? Hmm. It looks like a aftermarket version of Porsche Panamera. I’m still puzzled on what will be the engine performance of this car. And it we need to wait for its production next year.

Well, I would say that this vehicle has a high performance just like the California and Italia. I have thought that this model would be the replacement of the Italia and it seems that I’m wrong.

Wow! thanks for the video and i got to see how this car run! I want to know the figure of this car in terms of its performance.

This car doesn’t require a lot of work unlike on Ferrari.
I will overhang on the speculation that this car would be the testing mule on Enzo’s successor engine or hybrid system.

nice that was a great run, i bet this baby is a whole lot of fun to drive. an exceptional to drive car.

The way F1 is going, maybe they should do a high performance 4cyl. I know it would be no successor to the 599, but could still be cool. I’d rock it. As long as they don’t have the word "hybrid" in the successor, we’re good.

i guess they want more model of the ferrari, I guess this is their promise before... one model car per month?

I say abandon the California model and add a 2+2 cabriolet variant to the 599 and call it the 599 California. Or make the California model a V8 2+2 cabriolet variant of the 599. Either way, make sure to use a fabric soft top.

At least they paint in different color their mules smiley

Yaaahiii, nice to see they are working on improving the 599. It’s one of my favorites, and as odd as it might sound, if they update it means it is a great success and they want to extend the market!

lol I was wondering when those people will start to write big on their cars ECONOMY, ECO, or environmentally safe.

This video definitely shows hints that the 599 replacement will be a hybrid assisted vehicle, like the Porsche 918. It might have an engine with hybrid booster.
