Yesterday a rather rough-looking LaFerrari->ke4626 prototype was caught testing at the Fiorano racetrack, which was cool in its own right. Today, however, we have a real treat for you in the form of a LaFerrari production prototype that Hendrick from brainphArt caught driving on the open road in Maranello. This marks the first time that a true production prototype of the newest Ferrari has been caught on film.

According to the report from Hendrick, he had an interesting talk with a Ferrari->ke252 quality control employee just outside of the the Fiorano test track. According to this employee, Ferrari is hard at work on the final version of the LaFerrari, and the model at Museo Ferrari is a rushed-to-production rough draft and not a final production model.

So why is this the first appearance on a public road for the LaFerrari? According to Hendrik's Ferrari source, there are only three pre-production LaFerrari prototypes in existence: the show car and two camouflaged versions for final testing. Typically, it only sees super-slow tours within the Ferrari campus or runs around Fiorano.

Many thanks to Hendrik from the rock band brainphArt and his girlfriend for the superb video!
