In the latest episode of the show, Fifth Gear had a little fun with the Mercedes SLS AMG on the Isle of Man, the only road in the country that has no speed limits. Yes, when we first read that we were insanely jealous too. Tiff borrowed the car from the DTM driver David Coulthard and his challenge was to hit a top speed of 160 mph. Did he manage? Of course, and after that he had a little chat with Coulthard about the car. What’s our conclusion about this little escapade? You have to be able drive the SLS AMG at high speeds to see what it can do! The Mercedes SLS AMG is powered by a 6.3-liter V8 engine located front-mid that will develop 571 hp and up to 650 Nm of torque and is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. This allows the car to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds, while top speed will go up to 197 mph. .

While the SLS is not the fastest super car in the world, i think that distinct Mercedes AMG motor gives it a great experience. It’s by no means slow. 4.5-5 seconds 0-60mph is still fast in my books but sub-4 definitely deserves super car status. I think the SLS is more balanced than the SLR. Both very exclusive cars though. I wish i had one.
"the Isle of Man, the only road in the country that has no speed limits." Um - the Isle of Man isn’t a road. It’s a country. That was pretty darn impressive! Well, I never knew it can be upgraded to 571 hp and up to 650 Nm of torque and is mated to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, great job and i was impress.
