Paying tribute to the unheralded people behind some of the finest cars on the planet is easier said than done.

You can't really recognize people who prefer to do their work in the shadows, content on letting their products be recognized for what they eventually become.

That's why Nissan's->ke62 decision to showcase the four men behind the success of the Nissan GT-R->ke1592 became more than just an eye-opening look into the people whose imprint on Godzilla stands out above everybody else.

Collectively, they are called "takumi" and they are the ones in charge of building the heart of the GT-R: it's V VR38 engine. If you have a GT-R in your garage, we invite you to pop open the hood and you might see nameplates like "Handbuilt by Takumi Kurosawa" inside. That's a testament to each of the four artisans who have no other business in life than to ensure Godzilla runs smoothly.

Takumi Kurosawa is the lead engine builder for the supercar->ke177 but he isn't the only one. Joining him are Izumi Shioya, Nobumitsu Gozu and Tsunemi Oyama.

Remember their names because they put the work in to turn the Nissan GT-R into one of the most desirable sports cars in the world today.
