Video: Grid girl passes out and slams on the hood of Porsche GT3

As kids, we were always taught by our elders to help anyone in need. Really, it’s one of the first things they teach us, apart from, you know, walking and talking. As we get older, the hope is that this life lesson remains with us and we never forget to abide by it when the situation calls for it.

For Porsche driver, Ronald van de Laar, the lesson of helping others is easier said than done. While sitting on the grid during the ADAC GT Masters, the grid girl standing in front of his Porsche 911 GT3 passes out and slams into the hood of his car in a rather big thud. Instead of getting out of his car to assist the crew helping out the poor girl, he instead demands anybody within earshot to go check on the damage the girl did to his car. Of course, we don’t really understand all of that Dutch he was speaking, but according to a few of our buddies who have a grasp of the language, van de Laar was saying something along the lines of, "check my car, the grid girl fell on it!"

That’s right. You stay classy, Mr. van de Laar.

Well, I really don’t understand what is he talking about, but if he says so that he is giving commands to check the girl who fell on his car, we must believe it. I noticed that the Dutch was not a gentleman enough to show how helpful he was.

that was a bad fall though!I agree with Mark_Kamarov, i think the girl is dizzy or hungry. tsk! And also, someone is already on the way to help the girl and Mr. Laar can’t help much better if the medics will control in situation plus he has the race to think of..

idiot! he thins more of his car than to help the girl!what a shame!

Woah! That girl might be too exhausted from the heat and the weight of the grid makes it worst.

maybe this girl felt dizzy because of the sun’s heat.or she’s hungry.

Your words are to harsh dude. he’s just doing what the sponsors paid for. Also if he get out of his vehicle he might penalize because of the SOP.

I wouldn’t know if "This guy is a freak, stupid and faggot.", but, to paraphrase, I agree that he doesn’t deserve to be called a "gentleman".

I don’t understand why everyone is being so hard on the crew, you have to stay focused before a race. Someone already came and helped the girl, nothing more he can do, therefore he must close that "window" so to speak and worry about what he gets paid for racing, which includes any functionality of the car that she may have just ruined.

Thanks for the much anticipated followup by the crew..

This guy is a freak, stupid and faggot. He don’t deserved to be called as gentle man.

That’s hurt, maybe that grid causes by locking her knees, and goes down hard. Good thing there are some crew help out the poor girl.

Yeah he is idiot right. Instead of asking how is the girl, he instead ask how is he’s car. Very stupid guy.

What an idiot.
