Video: Heffner Ford GT blows standing mile record with top speed of 93 mph

With over 1,900 horsepower and about 41 pounds of boost added to it, no one should really be surprised to know that this particular Heffner Twin-Turbo Ford GT set a ridiculous standing-mile record during the recently-concluded Exotic Rally Miami One Mile last weekend.

After posting a pass of 249.7 mph - with 26 pounds of boost - at the Texas Mile a few weeks ago, the very same yellow Ford GT clocked a pass of 266.93 mph - with 41 pounds of boost - in Miami over the weekend. Whether or not the added boost in the car that ran in Miami contributed greatly to the higher top speed has been the point of contention regarding the Ford GT’s new record.

But regardless of what’s underneath the hood of the car, you can’t help but try picking your jaws up from the gravel after watching the car do its magic. Whether its 249 or 266, that banana-colored machine has some serious power under its hood.

The Paris trip, FORD GT40 for Jeremy, Zonda for Hammond and and F430 for may which isn’t a super car like the others, more a road going car.

Instead of constantly going with the LS7 these companies should go for Fords new 5.4l in the GT500. If it really is more efficient than the Ford GT’s engine it should get over 1200 rwhp like its nothing. There are more 1000 hp twin turbo Ford GT’s than you can shake a stick at including the 1900.

well i like it rather than the Dodge Charger.. it looks aggressive and it truly represents Muscle and power.

I’m interested in seeing what numbers the new (2011) GT500’s put out with their Ford GT engines.. However, I’m skeptical they will be much faster than the Mustang GT’s (0-60 in 4.6 for the 2011’s) as they are a lot heavier even with the wt shavings.

compromise between the cost-effective approach successfully developed with GT3, the detailed technical regulations of GT2 and the need to have distinctive cars, 2010 GT1 cars can be specifically built, an evolution of existing GT3 cars or a 2010 GT2 car with a performance kit.

Pretty amazing speed I can’t imagine that the ford GT can reach that kind of speed.

A whopping 1,900 ponies? It even out horses the famous and the most expensive Bugatti veyron.

hmm that was fast, it almost reaches the record of the Brabus tkr’s 270MPH.
