Video: Jay Leno reviews the Hennessey Venom GT

When it comes to the Hennessey Venom GT people have heard a lot, read a lot, and seen lots of images, but there are only a few people around the world who will actually have the chance to see or even drive it. Jay Leno, of course, is one of those people that will have the pleasure of being in the Venom GT’s presence.

In the latest episode of Jay Leno’s Garage, the star was able to get comfy cozy with none other than the Venom GT. Accompanying the sports car to Leno’s stage was Joan Hennessey , who tries to explain the technology behind this amazing car, and the decision to base it on a Lotus Elite and not on a Dodge Viper as most of us expected. Of course, Jay Leno couldn’t resist the temptation to show everyone what the car is capable of on the track, a place that seems to be the perfect place for a car like Venom.

@Brice_Brett, I think he is referring to the current released model of the Hennessey. Anyway, I really doubt the reliability of this car since its just copying the platform of other model.

Jay Leno is truly a car guy to have such a Venom GT. And I agree to aPACKofWEASELS. It has the supercar performance wherein you could experience the fun drivingsmiley

Alberto, which kind of version you would like to improve? Give specifics so that I would understand what unit we were talking about here smiley

Wow, Leno’s so dry. It’s like his commentary/interview style is the Sahara and the audience are the poor people stuck in the hellishness of it all.

You know, normal crook comments aside, I think this car being just shy of a million dollars is criminal. Chevy crate motor + elise frame + some fabrication and standard mods like Brembos, and they want 900k? I’m sorry, that just doesn’t add up.

oh well just another jay lenon car, the design is not that bad, they just have to work a little on something here..

The performance of this car is undisputed, unfortunately I too, have to agree that the car design is something that they should work on. My suggestion would be to make it simple in shape, but keeping the general lines.

Maybe next version will look better!

This reminds me of a joke...

The police stops a gar. The driver lowers the window and asks: "Was I driving to fast?"
Police officer: "No! You were flying too low" smiley

Such a great supercar. Simple, light, powerful, great handling, and fun. Supercar performance with the servicing of a regular musclecar. Can’t wait to see it hit Nurburgring.
