About six weeks ago, we featured artist Jeremy Dean and his rather unusual work of art, a horse carriage made from a Hummer H2->ke419.

After months of hard work and painstaking labor, Dean finally took his ‘Futurama’ ride out for a leisurely stroll around Central Park. Pulled by two horses he appropriately called ‘Duke and Diesel’, Dean certainly drew a lot of attention for himself and his SUV-inspired horse carriage.

Continued after the jump.

Dean set out to build this carriage because he wanted to emphasize a world where the dependence on natural resources would come to pass rendering all those high-powered, gas-guzzling vehicles entirely obsolete. He uses his ‘Futuruma’ ride to illustrate a lifestyle of independence from the world’s resources so if and when the time comes where our resources have come to pass, Dean is fully-equipped to handle the situation.

Besides, when you’re trying to figure out what to do with an SUV that has no other purpose any more, maybe you can draw inspiration from this man who seemingly had the foresight to do something cool with one without even having to use a drop of fuel to enjoy his ride.
