Every Monday, Motor Trend rolls out a new episode of its Ignition show and the latest one brings into focus a great sports car: the 2015 Aston Martin V12 Vantage S.

Carlos Lago checks out the V-12-powered sports car to see if it is really worthy of all the praise that is heaped upon it. He also checks out just how well the Vantage V12 S performs, relative to Aston Martin's->ke13 claim that this model is indeed the second-fastest-accelerating car the company has produced. This is where Carlos got to have all the fun in the world, as he pushed the Aston to its limits. Lago also lets us in on whether or not the controversial single-clutch automated manual transmission really hampers the performance of the Vantage.

As a reminder, the V12 Vantage S is powered by an AM28 6.0-liter, V-12 engine that delivers a total of 565 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque. It goes from 0 to 60 mph in a claimed 3.7 seconds -- Lago noted a much slower time -- and up to a top speed of 205 mph.
