Video: Pagani Zonda R - Nurburgring record

  news

At the end of June we reported that Pagani had smashed the Nurburgring record becoming the fastest car on the circuit with a lap time of 6:47. This is better than the 6.58 lap time Ferrari recently achieved in a 599XX.

Today, we bring you the first video of the record.

The Zonda R is powered by a V12 AMG engine that delivers 750 hp (100 more than the Zonda F) at 8000 rpm and 524 lb. ft. of torque. Although it looks like other Zondas, this only uses ten percent of the Zonda F components. New parts include a suspension forged in Avional (aluminum alloy), a new Pagani six-speed transversal sequential gearbox, and a carbon fiber monocoque chassis. The Zonda R will be limited to only 10 units each priced at €1.4 million euro (about $1.85 million).

impressive driving skills, the Zonda R is just a Souped up Pagani F. they added a little bit more kick on the engine.

Looks like a camera is mounted above the splitter as well.

Yes, drool indeed, but what’s the point of these records? A race car is a different animal altogether from a road car. Why not just put an F1 car on the track and dust ’em all?
