James Glickenhaus made headlines a few years ago when he commissioned coachbuilder Pininfarina to pen the Ferrari Enzo-based P4/5. Now, it looks like the interest surrounding Glickenhaus has drummed up yet again after the first episode of a video series chronicling the entire build of the P4/5 Competizione leading up to its participation at the 24 Hours of Nurburgring->ke999 in 2011 was released.

In the first chapter, Glickenhaus describes the plan for his new supercar, including its intended participation at the Nurburgring endurance race with the North American Racing Team.

Using a Ferrari 430 Scuderia as his base platform, Glickenhaus and his team went out to begin the process of building the P4/5 Competizione. The team will be using the same engine and suspension setup found in the Ferrari F430->ke390 GT2 ALMS racer with hopes that it can finish the build in time to make preparations for the 24 Hours of Nurburgring on June 25, 2011.

It’s a fascinating watch and one that we’ll continue to update when more episodes come out.
