Volkswagen celebrates 100,000th Scirocco built

We don’t know what’s more impressive, the fact that the third-generation Volkswagen Scirocco rolled out its 100,000th model – it’s a Scirocco R 2.0 TSI with a Rising Blue Metallic exterior with a Titan Black interior - in VW’s plant in Portugal or that it did so without selling the car in North America and still pulled it off the feat in a little under two years.

Either way, the achievement is amazing on all aspects, especially when you take into account the fact that before returning to the market in 2008, the Scirocco model was sitting on the shelves for the better part of 16 years; ever since it was discontinued way back in 1992.

Today, the Volkswagen Scirocco has once again become one of the brand’s most important vehicles and you don’t need to look any further than the building of the 100,000th model of the third-gen vehicle to prove that the Scirocco has once again become a hot commodity from people interested in purchasing a VW.

If I were car shopping now, I wouldn’t go to a VW dealer at all because there’s nothing at a VW store worth looking at.

Yes, hope is a good thing. But with the collective charisma of a lump of coal, I’m not holding onto it. They will rely on production value and editing for this to succeed.

Horay congratulations!... the employees seems to be really happy about this day.

VW would rather sell Mk6 Jettas with an antiquated – almost old as Methuselah – 115hp 2.0L. VW should be as strong in NA as they are in the rest of the World; instead, what do we get… and how do they plan to fix it… NA specific decontaminate models – genius huh! To think they were once the strongest imported brand in the US.
