volkswagen passat bluemotion to debut at geneva motor show picture

At Geneva Motor Show, Volkswagen will unveil the Passat BlueMotion that is said to be cleaner than a Toyota Prius with its three cylinder 1.4 direct injection turbodiesel engine that gives it the ability to do 72.4 mpg. The new Volkswagen Passat BlueMotion is expected to emit 103g/km of CO2 and have a fuel consumption rating of 60.3 mpg.

Volkswagen will probably be tweaking the aerodynamics, possibly including smaller mirrors, modified fascia with openings closed off and narrower tires. The gearing will probably be optimized and lower rolling resistance tires will be used. The BlueMotion tag on Volkswagen models basically means that the diesel cars are a more greener version of their regular counterpart. Volkswagen will continue to add to their BlueMotion line in Europe.
