The Volkswagen Scirocco is the most stylish hatchback to come from the Wolfsburg design studios, and with a 2.0 Liter turbocharged version scheduled to arrive sometime in the near future, the 21st century Sky Rocket is only going to become even more of a sought after performance machine. But until that happens the British tuner APS has a very green solution for you with their Stage One kit consisting of an ECU upgrade for the TDI powered Volkswagen Scirocco. The simple and straightforward computer re flash brings the diesel burning boosted four cylinder’s output up to 170 HP and 292 lb-ft of torque for only £499. Being an alternatively fueled vehicle, the TDI Scirocco’s range is unparalleled compared to the future gas powered GTI engined Scirocco. Although the tuned TDI might be down a few ponies compared to the TFSI version but because it’s a diesel it will have way more torque, however getting 55 MPG might just make up the difference. Press release after the jump. Press release APS of Brackley is pleased to unveil a Stage One engine performance upgrade for the popular, powerful and economical 140PS 2.0 TDi Volkswagen Scirocco Coupe. As standard, the VW Scirocco 2.0 TDi produces 138bhp (103 KW) allied to 236lb.ft of torque. Post conversion, the APS Stage One Scirocco 2.0 TDi now boasts 170bhp (127KW) and a mighty 292lb.ft of torque – and this – allied to peak power arriving at a mere 3670rpm, makes for an exciting, yet relaxed drive. 3 comments: Volkswagen Scirocco by APS Buying this car seems so complicated. And it is even more complicated if we will try to make out the difference of TDI from TFSI. Can we have something clearer?
Lovely. Once again we have to endure seeing the stylish, high performance diesels available to Europeans, but not us. Ever wonder why? I sure do, and the smell of politics is worse than an old diesel tailpipe!
