Volkswagen to launch Eos in May

Volkswagen will launch its Eos coupe-cabriolet model in Germany on May 19, not in July as last advised.

Quality issues had pushed back the original launch date from March to May, and then to July, so the new date represents a step forward after two steps back.

Prices start at $31,330 (25,950 euros), VW said in a statement. The model will move into other markets after its European debut in Germany. Industry sources estimate VW will build 50,000 Eos cars a year.
